The Memoji are, in essence, a custom Animoji that look like you. These can be created from scratch, being able to manually select the skin color of the same, the accessories that will take, as well as other details.

In this way they simulate our movements and facial expressions, making them a kind of animated avatars of the most real. Of course, custom avatars are not something new.

iPhone X, the mobile with which you can create Memojis

We already saw them in Habbo, where the user could create a personalized doll to interact on the platform. We also met the Mii thanks to Nintendo, a “user’s virtual” user that could be controlled like any other character in different games on the Wii. More recent are the Bitmojis, animated and custom user avatars that are created through an app available for iOS and Android. In short, some Memoji for all audiences.

The Memoji can be saved as if it were an Animoji more or they can overlap our face when we take a selfie or make a video call with FaceTime, combining our avatar with the background that surrounds us.

When it comes to creating them, the memoji do not use the easy recognition of the iPhone X, the Face ID , which does use its great competition: the Samsung Emoji AR. And is that this innovation from Apple reminds us in a way to the technology presented by the Korean company a few months ago.

Although it is a recent technology, the truth is that there are already people who are taking advantage of it. In fact, there are already youtubers that are squeezing all their potential and have created channels of virtual youtubers using Memoji technology, such as Debichan . Pass through your channel if you want to see the full potential of the Memojis in action.
